Israeli Forces Detain Palestinians During West Bank Raid

Israeli forces carried out a military raid in the Qalandiya refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, detaining several Palestinians and demolishing a carwash, according to Palestinian media reports.

Witnesses said the operation disrupted daily life in the camp, with soldiers distributing leaflets announcing that a large-scale military operation was underway. Local reports also claimed that entrances to the camp were blocked with earth mounds and rocks.

A journalist covering the raid was reportedly severely beaten, while another Palestinian was allegedly struck by an Israeli military vehicle. His condition was not immediately known.

Videos shared online appeared to show Israeli soldiers detaining a Palestinian man during the operation. Residents also reported that access to mosques for dawn prayers was restricted.

Speaking from the camp, Al Jazeera correspondent Nida Ibrahim said Israeli forces had conducted frequent raids across the occupied West Bank in recent weeks, describing the latest operation as part of a broader military campaign.

Human rights organizations have continued to express concern over the increasing number of raids and deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the West Bank. Israeli rights group B'Tselem has criticized the military operations, while Human Rights Watch has warned that some actions could violate international law.

The Israeli military had not immediately issued a detailed public statement explaining the objectives of the Qalandiya operation at the time of reporting. Meanwhile, tensions remain high across the occupied West Bank amid ongoing violence and security operations.
