Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Navy has rejected claims from the United States that the Strait of Hormuz is open, saying it maintains “full control” over the strategic waterway.
In a statement issued on August 28, Iran said restrictions on the strait would remain in place until U.S. military operations against Iran end and relevant commitments are fulfilled.
The Iranian military also accused Washington of attempting to influence global oil prices and conceal what Tehran described as failures in its military campaign.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global oil shipping route, and any prolonged disruption could affect international energy markets and fuel prices.
