Three Siblings Abducted While Transporting Mother's Body for Burial in Benue.

Three siblings travelling from Abuja to Benue State with the remains of their late mother have reportedly been kidnapped by suspected armed herdsmen along the Ogobia–Otukpo Road in Ohimini Local Government Area.

According to local sources, the family was taking their mother's body to their hometown of Iklenyi in Okpokwu Local Government Area for burial when their vehicle developed a mechanical fault, forcing them to continue the journey in the early hours of Saturday.

The siblings were said to have maintained contact with relatives until they reached the stretch of road between Omutele and Ankpechi communities, where they were allegedly ambushed by armed men.

The attackers reportedly abducted all three siblings and took the body of their deceased mother into the nearby bush. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

Residents described the incident as heartbreaking, urging security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the victims and recover the deceased woman's remains.

Confirming the incident, Chairman of Ohimini Local Government Area, Gabriel Adole, said he had received reports of the attack and was heading to the affected area to verify the situation.

The Benue State Police Command had not issued an official statement at the time of reporting, as efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer were unsuccessful.
