Police Recover Body of 28-Year-Old University Student in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has recovered the body of a 28-year-old student of the Federal University Kashere, identified as Enoch Sunday Maisamari, from stagnant water in Sabon Garin Yero Village, Akko Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson DSP Buhari Abdullahi said the incident was reported on July 22, 2026, at about 9:30 a.m. Officers responded to the scene and recovered the student's body before transporting it to the General Hospital in Kashere.

Medical personnel confirmed the student dead. According to the police, there were no visible signs of violence on the body during the initial examination.

The command has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the student's death and urged members of the public to remain calm while inquiries continue.

Authorities say further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
