Nigeria's crude oil production has climbed to 1.71 million barrels per day (bpd), according to the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Bashir Ojulari.
Speaking at an oil conference in Abuja, Ojulari said the country remains on course to achieve its target of producing 2 million barrels per day. He noted that NNPC has also met all joint-venture cash-call obligations throughout 2025 and the first half of 2026.
Ojulari said production gains were driven by improved operations at five major export terminals, which recorded an average availability of 98 percent between April 2025 and May 2026. He added that condensate production has also increased to about 900,000 barrels per day.
The NNPC boss further disclosed that Nigeria's gas production has risen to 7.5 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd), supported by the completion of the River Niger crossing on the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) gas pipeline and the commencement of operations at the ANOH Gas Plant.
He also revealed that NNPC has signed gas sales agreements covering 1.29 bcfd for LNG exports and 750 million cubic feet per day for domestic supply, including deliveries to the Dangote Refinery.
The latest figures reflect Nigeria's ongoing efforts to boost oil and gas production after years of declining output.
