Nigerian Troops Rescue 11 Kidnap Victims, Arrest 21 Terrorism Suspects in Nationwide Operations.

The Nigerian Armed Forces have rescued 11 kidnapped victims and arrested 21 suspected terrorists, collaborators, logistics suppliers, and drug traffickers during coordinated security operations across Borno, Zamfara, and Kogi states.

According to operational reports released on Thursday, the missions were carried out between July 21 and 22 under Operation HADIN KAI, Operation Fansan Yamma, and Operation MESA. The operations also resulted in the discovery and safe destruction of several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by terrorists.

In Borno State, troops arrested three suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers in Bama Local Government Area. Security forces recovered food supplies and other items believed to have been intended for terrorist groups. Two teenage girls who escaped from a terrorist hideout in the Mandara Mountains also surrendered to troops in Gwoza.

Military personnel further located and safely detonated multiple roadside IEDs along the Dambua–Bulabulin–Kumala and Cross Kauwa–Kekeno–Monguno roads, preventing potential attacks on civilians and security personnel.

In Monguno, troops arrested 12 suspected drug dealers during raids on criminal hideouts, recovering cannabis, tramadol, and other illegal substances.

Meanwhile, in Zamfara State, troops engaged armed terrorists along the Gambada–Gummi–Sokoto road, forcing them to flee and abandon 11 kidnapped victims, who were successfully rescued.

In Kogi State, security forces arrested a suspected terrorist informant who allegedly worked for a notorious terrorist leader known as Kachallah Babangida. Three additional terror suspects were arrested in separate operations in Adavi and Lokoja Local Government Areas, while two suspected logistics couriers transporting food, drinks, and cigarettes to terrorists were also apprehended.

The military added that search operations are ongoing to rescue two people recently abducted in Owo, Ondo State. Troops also recovered a bicycle and bags of charcoal abandoned by a fleeing logistics supplier.

The Armed Forces said the successful operations demonstrate their continued commitment to dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting criminal supply chains, rescuing kidnapped victims, and improving security across the country.
