Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has unveiled a statewide grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at strengthening his party's structure in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The initiative was announced during an interactive meeting with members of the APC Polling Unit Supporters Association, popularly known as 'Yan Akwatina, a political support group with structures across Kano State's 44 local government areas, 484 wards, and numerous polling units.
Governor Yusuf said the campaign is designed to expand the party's grassroots presence and improve its chances in the 2027 presidential, governorship, and legislative elections. He expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu's re-election would help sustain ongoing economic reforms and infrastructure development across the country.
To support the association's activities, the governor announced the donation of plots of land and ₦100 million.
Speaking at the event, the governor's Political Adviser, Mustapha Bakwana, described the programme as the beginning of the party's grassroots election strategy, claiming the association has the capacity to mobilise more than 1.1 million votes for President Tinubu in the next presidential election.
The association's leader, Najib Salati, thanked the governor for involving members in government appointments and pledged continued support for the party ahead of the 2027 polls.
Kano APC Chairman Umar Doguwa also expressed optimism that the party would secure a landslide victory, citing its growing support base across the state.
