Israeli Strikes Across Gaza Kill 11, Including Family of Five

At least 11 people were killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, including a family of five with three children, according to Gaza's civil defence agency and local hospitals.

Officials said an Israeli airstrike hit a residential apartment in northwestern Gaza City, killing two parents and their three children. One child from the family survived after reportedly being away from the house when the strike occurred.

The Israeli military said the operation targeted a Hamas militant in Gaza City and added that it was reviewing the outcome of the strike.

Residents said there was no warning before the missile struck the building. Witnesses described scenes of destruction, with several civilians, including women and children, among the victims.

Elsewhere in Gaza City, three more people were killed after an airstrike hit a group of civilians in the Zeitoun neighbourhood. Another woman died when artillery shells struck a tent sheltering displaced families, while several others were injured and three people were reported missing.

Two additional fatalities were reported in separate attacks in other parts of Gaza. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on those incidents.

The latest violence comes despite an existing ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Negotiations aimed at securing a permanent end to the conflict remain stalled, while clashes and military operations continue across the territory.

According to Gaza's health authorities, more than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began last October. Israel says it has lost five soldiers and one civilian contractor during the same period.
