At least five Palestinians were killed in separate Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, despite an October ceasefire agreement that was intended to halt hostilities.
According to Palestinian health officials, two people were killed in an Israeli airstrike near the Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City. Another person died after a strike hit a tent sheltering displaced families in western Gaza City, while a fourth was killed by Israeli tank fire in eastern Gaza City. A fifth victim was killed when a vehicle was struck in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
The latest incidents have raised renewed concerns about repeated violations of the ceasefire. Palestinian officials say more than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the truce took effect in October.
Residents also say humanitarian conditions remain dire, with aid deliveries still limited and reconstruction efforts yet to begin. Many displaced families continue to live in temporary shelters as basic services remain severely disrupted.
The ceasefire agreement, backed by the United States, has faced ongoing challenges, with both implementation and humanitarian relief progressing slowly. Meanwhile, political uncertainty in Israel ahead of the country's October elections has added to concerns about the future of the truce.
The conflict has left Gaza facing widespread destruction, with estimates suggesting reconstruction could take more than a decade and require over $70 billion in funding.
