Iran Mourns Khamenei as Massive Funeral Procession Moves Through Tehran.

Thousands of mourners gathered in Tehran on Monday for the funeral procession of Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, as authorities vowed to seek justice following his assassination during the recent US-Israel conflict.

Khamenei, who ruled Iran for nearly 37 years, was killed in an air strike on February 28, the first day of the war. His funeral procession began after his body lay in state for two days at Tehran's Grand Mosalla religious complex.

Large crowds lined the streets of the Iranian capital, with many carrying flags, portraits of Khamenei, and banners condemning the United States and Israel. Some protesters also displayed effigies and placards directed at senior US and Israeli officials.

Iranian leaders used the ceremony to stress national unity and resilience following the conflict. Army Chief Major General Amir Hatami vowed that those responsible for Khamenei's death would face justice, while Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf praised the public turnout as a sign of national solidarity.

The funeral events will continue in Qom, Najaf, and Karbala before Khamenei is laid to rest in his hometown of Mashhad later this week.

The weeklong ceremonies come as a ceasefire between Iran and the United States remains in place, although both sides have warned they are prepared to resume military action if tensions escalate.
