Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has said that ongoing threats from the United States are preventing negotiations on a final agreement between Tehran and Washington.
In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, Araghchi said talks on a permanent deal would not begin unless the US stopped making threats. He urged Washington to honor the commitments contained in the interim agreement signed last month.
His remarks came after US President Donald Trump warned that the United States would either reach a deal with Iran or "finish the job" if negotiations failed.
The interim agreement signed in June reportedly requires both countries to refrain from threatening or using force against each other while efforts continue toward a comprehensive agreement.
Tensions between the two nations remain high despite diplomatic efforts, with Iran insisting that a climate free of threats is essential for meaningful negotiations.
