Three Killed in Ukraine After Drone Attack on Moscow Kills Child

Russia has launched fresh attacks on Ukraine, killing three people including an eight-year-old girl, according to Ukrainian officials.

The strikes came a day after Ukraine carried out its largest-ever drone attack on Moscow, which Russian officials said killed another eight-year-old girl and caused a fire at a major oil refinery.

Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched about 90 drones between Thursday night and Friday morning.

The governor of Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, Oleksandr Ganzha, said an eight-year-old girl was killed in an attack on Pavlohrad, while another person was injured.

Authorities also reported deaths from Russian strikes in the southern Odesa region and the eastern city of Kramatorsk.

Ukraine said Russian drone attacks on Thursday night also killed one person and injured five others on civilian ships in the Black Sea.

The Kremlin said Russia would continue its attacks on Ukraine after the drone strikes on Moscow.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russian strikes on Ukraine would continue, while Moscow claimed its air defences had performed well during the Ukrainian drone attack.

Ukraine said its attacks on Russian territory were retaliation for Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilians.

The conflict continues as diplomatic efforts led by the United States remain stalled.
