Saudi Aramco Helicopter Crash Kills 14 Nationals, State Media Reports

A helicopter belonging to Saudi Arabia’s oil giant Saudi Aramco crashed on Sunday in Ras Tanura on the country’s eastern coast, killing 14 Saudi nationals, the state news agency reported.

Authorities said the cause of the crash remains unknown, and an investigation has been launched with relevant agencies involved to determine what happened.

The crash occurred near the Ras Tanura oil facilities, a major oil export hub on the Gulf coast. The incident comes shortly after Aramco resumed crude oil loading operations at the terminal following a nearly four-month halt.

Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter, has recently increased efforts to move oil cargoes as Middle Eastern producers boosted output and exports amid diplomatic efforts to reach a temporary agreement to stop the conflict between the United States and Iran.
