One Person Dies After Freight Trains Collide in Munich

One person has died after two freight trains collided on a bridge in Munich, Germany, early Saturday morning.

Local police said the crash caused two carriages to derail and fall from the bridge onto the road below.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, according to police officials.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision in Munich’s northern Milbertshofen district at about 1:40 a.m. Around 60 rescue workers were sent to the scene.

Authorities are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.
