A senior Hezbollah lawmaker has stated that any future agreement between Iran and the United States should include guarantees for Lebanon's security and stability.
Speaking on Friday, Lebanese parliament member Hassan Fadlallah said Iran has consistently insisted that Lebanon be considered in discussions between Tehran and Washington. According to him, Iran's position is aimed at ensuring that Lebanon benefits from any understanding reached between the two countries.
Fadlallah rejected claims that Hezbollah's actions are driven solely by Iranian interests, arguing that the movement's primary objective is to defend Lebanon against external threats. He also criticized Lebanese officials for engaging in contacts related to Israel before a comprehensive ceasefire is achieved.
The comments come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts involving Iran, the United States, and several Middle Eastern countries. Recent exchanges between Iran and Israel have increased concerns about the possibility of a wider regional conflict.
Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized that Lebanon remains an important part of any broader regional security arrangement. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has also reiterated Tehran's support for Lebanon, warning against further military actions that could destabilize the country.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue as international mediators seek to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation across the region. Hezbollah maintains that lasting stability can only be achieved if attacks on Lebanon cease and regional security concerns are addressed through dialogue and negotiation.
