Eight Family Members Among 21 Dead in South Delhi Hotel Fire

A family trip to support an ailing relative turned tragic after eight members of a Gurugram-based family lost their lives in a deadly fire that swept through a hotel in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar area.

The victims were among 21 people killed when flames engulfed the hotel on Wednesday. Authorities said the deceased included nine Indian nationals and 12 foreign citizens.

According to reports, the family had been staying at the Flourish Stay Bed and Breakfast facility to remain close to a relative receiving treatment at a nearby hospital in Saket. The fire broke out during their stay, trapping several occupants inside the building.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and launched rescue operations, but many guests were unable to escape the rapidly spreading blaze.

Officials have begun investigations to determine the cause of the fire and whether safety regulations were adequately followed at the establishment.

The incident has sparked renewed concerns about fire safety standards in hotels and guest accommodations across the capital.

Authorities are working to identify all victims and provide support to affected families as inquiries into the disaster continue.
