Ayatollah Khamenei’s Funeral and Burial Scheduled for July

Iranian authorities have announced the timetable for the farewell, funeral, and burial ceremonies of the late Iranian leader, Ali Khamenei.

According to an official statement, farewell ceremonies will take place at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla on July 4 and 5. A funeral procession is scheduled in Tehran on July 6, followed by another ceremony in the holy city of Qom on July 7.

The final funeral rites will be held in Mashhad on July 9, where Khamenei will be laid to rest at the revered Imam Reza Shrine.

Organizers have invited Iranians and supporters from around the world to participate in the ceremonies, describing the events as a national farewell expected to attract large crowds.

The statement also praised government agencies and volunteer groups for their preparations, while emphasizing that the public would play the central role in honoring the late leader.

Following Khamenei’s death earlier this year, Iran’s Assembly of Experts selected Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new leader.
