Aregbesola Confident ADC Will Win Ekiti Governorship Election, Dismisses Tinubu Support Song as “Obsolete”

Aregbesola Confident ADC Will Win Ekiti Governorship Election, Dismisses Tinubu Support Song as “Obsolete”

The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has expressed confidence that the party will win the Ekiti State governorship election if the poll is conducted freely and fairly.

Speaking at the ADC’s final campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, Aregbesola criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign song, “On Your Mandate We Stand,” saying it no longer appeals to Nigerians and has become outdated.

The former Osun State governor, who was once a key ally of Bola Tinubu, said the APC had underestimated the strength of the ADC, adding that the two parties would meet at the polls.

He accused the APC government of poor performance, saying the party’s political strategy was strong but its governance had fallen short.

During the rally, Aregbesola also sang satirical songs to mock the ruling party at both federal and state levels.

The ADC governorship candidate, Dare Bejide, assured supporters that if elected governor, Ekiti residents would not suffer from a lack of basic amenities.

The Ekiti governorship election features 14 candidates, including the incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji of the APC, and candidates from other political parties.
