All Nigerian Pilgrims to Receive NUSUK Cards Before 2027 Hajj Travel — Saudi Official

A Saudi Arabian Hajj service provider, Mashariq Al-Dhahabiah (Sana), has announced that all Nigerian pilgrims will receive their NUSUK cards before travelling for the 2027 Hajj.

The company’s Head of Nigerian Operations for the 2026 Hajj, Muhammad Kamil Kalantan, disclosed this during an interview in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement from the company’s media office, Mashariq Al-Dhahabiah introduced a pilot programme ahead of the 2026 Hajj by sending its officials to Nigeria to issue NUSUK cards to some intending pilgrims before their departure.

During the 2026 Hajj exercise, only pilgrims from Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) received their NUSUK cards in Nigeria before travelling.

Kalantan explained that the move was introduced after Nigerian pilgrims faced challenges with NUSUK card issuance during the 2025 Hajj.

He said the process worked smoothly in 2026 and that the company had decided to extend the arrangement to all Nigerian pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj.

“The NUSUK card is central to Hajj operations. When every pilgrim receives it on time, the entire process becomes easier and more organised,” he said.

He added that having the cards before departure would allow pilgrims to move easily through airports, access transportation, accommodation, healthcare, meals, and other Hajj services in Makkah and Madinah.

The Saudi official also praised the leadership of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and state pilgrims’ boards for their cooperation in making the 2026 Hajj successful.
