27 Terrorists Killed in Coordinated Airstrikes in Borno, Military Says

The air component of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, has killed 27 terrorists in coordinated airstrikes targeting hideouts in Borno State.

According to an operational report by the Nigerian Air Force and the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the strikes were carried out in separate missions in the Southern and Northern Tumbus areas following intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.

In one of the operations, air assets including Dragon and ISR platforms struck a terrorist enclave at Dawoshe in the Southern Tumbus area around 12:40 a.m. on June 10. During the attack, terrorist vehicles were sighted and destroyed, with 12 fighters neutralised.

In another mission conducted the same day, precision airstrikes were carried out on terrorist positions in Metele, Northern Tumbus area of Guzamala Local Government Area. Post-strike assessments confirmed that 15 terrorists were killed in that operation.

The report said the combined operations significantly degraded terrorist networks around the Lake Chad Basin and disrupted their logistics and movement within the region.

It added that the missions are part of ongoing efforts by the Armed Forces of Nigeria to weaken insurgent groups, dismantle their strongholds, and restore stability in the North-East.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations until lasting peace is achieved in the region.
