Senior Bahraini cleric Sheikh Isa Qassim has praised late Iranian leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, describing him as a key figure who worked to revive Islamic values and preserve unity within the Muslim Ummah.
In a televised message aired during a book unveiling event in Tehran on Friday, Sheikh Qassim said Ayatollah Khamenei played a major role in guiding the Islamic nation according to Islamic teachings and principles.
The event was organized to introduce a new Arabic-language book dedicated to the late Iranian leader, who was reportedly killed in a US-Israeli attack on Tehran earlier this year.
Sheikh Qassim stated that Ayatollah Khamenei’s leadership focused on protecting the unity of Muslims and strengthening the Islamic Revolution. He said the Islamic system established in Iran had become a model of resistance, justice and independence in the face of foreign pressure.
The Bahraini scholar also criticized Western powers and Israel, accusing them of attempting to weaken Islamic movements and destabilize the region. He described the current global tensions as a struggle between “faith and oppression”.
According to Sheikh Qassim, the “Axis of Resistance” and supporters of the Islamic Republic continue to defend Islamic values, dignity and regional sovereignty.
The speech comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following months of conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
