Pakistan Army Chief Holds Talks With Iran’s FM in Tehran Amid Mediation Push

Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran as diplomatic efforts intensify to reduce tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel.

The high-level meeting focused on regional security, ongoing mediation initiatives, and efforts to prevent further escalation in West Asia. Officials from both sides also discussed ways to strengthen peace and stability across the region.

According to Pakistani military officials, Munir arrived in Tehran on Friday alongside a delegation for consultations with Iranian leaders. Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi were present during the welcoming ceremony.

The visit comes amid continued diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan following recent hostilities involving Iran, the US and Israel. Tehran has maintained that sanctions and blockades imposed by Washington remain a major obstacle to renewed negotiations.

Iranian authorities have also insisted that meaningful progress in talks cannot occur unless restrictions on Iranian shipping and ports are lifted.
