Majority of Iranians Express Confidence in Country’s Global Role, Poll Finds

A recent survey conducted by the University of Tehran indicates that a majority of Iranians remain confident in their country's international standing despite years of political pressure and ongoing regional tensions.

According to the poll, nearly two-thirds of respondents said they are proud of Iran’s position on the global stage. The findings suggest that public confidence has remained steady over the past two years and has strengthened following recent military and diplomatic developments involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

The survey found that public engagement in events commemorating those killed during the conflict was widespread, with more than half of respondents reporting attendance at memorial gatherings or funeral ceremonies.

When asked about the outcome of the conflict, 59 percent of participants said they believed Iran emerged favorably, while a much smaller percentage viewed the United States and Israel as having achieved victory.

The poll also examined public attitudes toward diplomatic engagement with Washington. While a majority supported Iran’s decision to accept a ceasefire, many also backed the continuation of indirect negotiations despite concerns over alleged violations of the agreement. However, confidence in the prospects for a final deal remained limited.

Skepticism toward the United States was also evident, with most respondents expressing doubts that Washington would fully honor any future commitments.

On domestic issues, the survey explored reactions to temporary internet restrictions imposed during the conflict. A significant portion of respondents said the measures did not create major difficulties, while others cited economic, communication, and educational challenges.

The poll further measured trust in national institutions, finding high levels of confidence in Iran’s military and security structures.

Researchers concluded that the findings reflect a society that has maintained a sense of unity and resilience despite facing considerable political, economic, and security challenges in recent years.
