Israeli Strikes Continue Across Gaza Despite Truce Agreement

Israeli military attacks across the Gaza Strip have intensified despite an existing ceasefire arrangement, with analysts and rights groups accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of delaying a lasting truce ahead of upcoming national elections.

According to Gaza health authorities, at least 880 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since the ceasefire agreement was introduced seven months ago, raising the overall death toll from the conflict to more than 72,000.

Human rights officials and political analysts say Israeli operations have continued through air strikes, forced evacuations, and widespread demolition of residential areas across the enclave. Rights monitors allege that repeated displacement orders and restrictions on humanitarian aid have worsened conditions for civilians already facing severe shortages of food, medicine, and shelter.

The latest reports indicate that areas including Nuseirat, Bureij, Maghazi, and Deir el-Balah have experienced extensive destruction following evacuation warnings issued to residents before strikes were carried out.

Analysts cited in the report argue that Netanyahu’s government is under increasing political pressure ahead of Israel’s expected September elections. Critics claim the Israeli leadership is prolonging military operations in order to maintain support from hardline coalition partners while continuing efforts to weaken Hamas.

Political observers also say disputes surrounding the disarmament of Palestinian armed factions have become a major obstacle to implementing a permanent ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, international efforts aimed at enforcing the truce and coordinating Gaza’s reconstruction have reportedly struggled amid disagreements among foreign stakeholders and regional tensions involving Iran and Lebanon.

Humanitarian organisations continue to warn that without a comprehensive reconstruction and aid plan, conditions in Gaza could deteriorate further for millions of displaced Palestinians.
