At least four people have been killed and eight others injured following a series of Israeli air strikes across southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese state media.
The attacks targeted several towns in the Nabatieh and Bint Jbeil districts on Sunday, as tensions continue despite an existing ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that two emergency medics were wounded after an Israeli strike hit a civil defence team linked to the Islamic Health Society while they were responding to an earlier attack in the town of Toul.
In another strike, two men were killed and five others injured after warplanes bombed the town of Ebba. A separate drone strike targeting a vehicle in Haris reportedly killed one man and wounded his brother.
Additional air raids were reported in Sajd, Kfar Rumman and Safad al-Battikh, though authorities did not immediately confirm casualties from those locations.
Before the strikes, the Israeli military issued evacuation warnings to residents in nine towns across southern and eastern Lebanon, claiming Hezbollah infrastructure was operating in the areas. Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee urged civilians to leave the affected communities immediately.
The Israeli military also announced that one Israeli soldier was killed in a Hezbollah drone attack near the border, while three others were injured in a separate drone explosion incident.
Clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters have continued in recent weeks despite a ceasefire that began on April 17 and was later extended into mid-May.
Lebanese officials say Israeli attacks since March have killed more than 2,800 people, injured thousands and forced over one million residents to flee their homes.
Meanwhile, the United States is expected to host new peace talks involving Israel and Lebanon later this week in Washington as efforts continue to prevent further escalation in the region.
