Dua to ease pain of death

Dua to ease pain of death

In Islam, when someone is in the final moments of life, the focus is not on removing physical pain directly, but on asking Allah for ease, mercy, firmness in faith, and a peaceful return to Him.
These supplications and actions are meant to bring spiritual comfort to the dying person and calmness to those around them.

Duas to Ease the Pain of Death.

1. Dua for ease and comfort

> اللَّهُمَّ يَسِّرْ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرَهُ، وَسَهِّلْ عَلَيْهِ مَا بَعْدَهُ

Transliteration:
Allāhumma yassir ʿalayhi amrah, wa sahhil ʿalayhi mā baʿdah

Meaning:
O Allah, make his affairs easy for him and make what comes after easy for him.

2. Dua for firmness at death (Qur’an-based).

> اللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ

Transliteration:
Allāhumma thabbit-hu bil-qawli th-thābit

Meaning:
O Allah, keep him firm upon the true word (faith).

This comes from the Qur’an (Surah Ibrahim 14:27).

3. Talqīn (reminder of faith).

The Prophet ﷺ said:

> “Prompt your dying ones to say: Lā ilāha illallāh.”

> لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ
Lā ilāha illallāh

Meaning:
There is no god but Allah.

Why it helps:
Brings peace to the heart

Shifts focus from pain to remembrance of Allah

4. Dua for mercy and forgiveness.

> اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ

Transliteration:
Allāhumma ighfir lahu warḥamhu wa ʿāfihi waʿfu ʿanhu

Meaning:
O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him relief, and pardon him.

5. Qur’anic comfort (recommended).

Many scholars recommend reciting:

Surah Yā-Sīn

Dhikr such as:

Subḥānallāh

Alḥamdulillāh

Allāhu Akbar

Purpose:
Brings calmness to the soul
