The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has conferred the traditional title of Tafidan Yamman Zazzau on Isiaka Abdulrazaq, a former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The appointment was announced in a letter dated October 7, 2026, issued by the Office of the Council Secretary of the Zazzau Emirate Council and signed by the Magatakardan Zazzau, Yusuf Abubakar Hayat.
Abdulrazaq, a lawyer and finance professional, retired from NNPCL in 2019 after serving as the company's Chief Financial Officer.
A native of Zaria, Kaduna State, he attended Barewa College, one of the oldest educational institutions in Northern Nigeria. He is also known for his philanthropic activities and contributions to community development within the Zazzau Emirate.
His late father, A.G.F. Abdulrazaq, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), previously held the traditional title of Tafidan Zazzau, which he received in 1962.
The Abdulrazaq family has maintained strong ties with Zaria since the mid-1950s.
In the appointment letter, the Emir and members of the Zazzau Emirate Council congratulated Abdulrazaq on his new title and expressed confidence that he would carry out the responsibilities associated with the position with integrity and dedication.
