Iran War: Tehran Says Efforts Continue to Revive Islamabad Agreement

Iran’s Interior Ministry says diplomatic efforts are continuing to resolve outstanding issues and restore the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Ministry spokesperson Ali Zeynivand said international mediation was ongoing and stressed that Iran expects the other side to honour its commitments under the agreement.

Zeynivand also said rising prices were causing concern among Iranians, as the country faces high inflation following years of Western sanctions. He said rebuilding damaged civilian infrastructure, including homes and public facilities, remains a top priority.

According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency, nearly 75,000 residential units, along with infrastructure and bridges in provinces including Hormozgan and Golestan, were damaged during the conflict.

Meanwhile, fighting and tensions continue across the region. Saudi Arabia issued emergency alerts in Riyadh and Al-Kharj amid escalating violence in Yemen, while Yemeni government forces said they had shot down a Houthi drone in Al-Jawf.

In Gaza, Al Jazeera reported several Palestinian casualties in Israeli attacks, while students returned to schools despite continued security concerns. UNICEF estimates that more than 420,000 children are unable to access education, with 98 percent of Gaza’s schools damaged.
