At least two Palestinians have been killed and four others injured in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
The ministry said on Saturday that many victims of previous Israeli strikes remain trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings, with rescue and ambulance teams unable to reach them.
In central Gaza, an Israeli drone strike targeted the al-Hasanat family in Deir el-Balah, killing one person and wounding several others. The attack reportedly occurred without warning in an area crowded with tents housing displaced Palestinians. The injured were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
Israeli forces also carried out two demolition operations in Deir el-Balah, destroying homes and causing large explosions. Israeli troops reportedly advanced into the eastern part of the city and struck several houses near civilian areas.
In Khan Younis, southern Gaza, Israeli forces shelled several civilian areas, including camps for displaced Palestinians near the military-controlled area along the so-called “Yellow Line.”
Israeli forces have also advanced further into eastern Gaza City, expanding the area around the Yellow Line and demolishing homes and infrastructure.
Local reports said a woman was wounded after Israeli forces opened fire near ad-Dawa Street, northeast of the Nuseirat refugee camp. Israeli artillery also struck areas northeast of the Bureij refugee camp.
According to Al Jazeera, Israeli air and artillery attacks have intensified in areas designated by the military as “humanitarian zones,” where more than two million Palestinians are concentrated in about 30 percent of the Gaza Strip.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said 1,285 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire agreement of October 2025. It said the overall Palestinian death toll since the war began in October 2023 has reached 73,419, with women and children making up most of those killed.
Authorities warned that the actual death toll could be higher, as thousands of people are still believed to be buried beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings.
