Saudi Arabia Says Fire at Aramco Facility in Jizan Has Been Extinguished.

No casualties were reported after a fire broke out early Sunday at a Saudi Aramco facility in the coastal city of Jizan, according to Saudi authorities.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy said the fire at the state-owned oil giant Aramco facility was brought under control, adding that the relevant authorities were carrying out necessary procedures following the incident.

The ministry did not disclose the cause of the fire.

However, Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi group claimed responsibility for the incident. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the group had targeted the Aramco refinery in Jizan with a drone, describing the attack as “precise.”

Saree said the attack was carried out in response to what he described as Saudi violations of the airspace over Yemen’s Saada and Hajjah provinces.

Saudi authorities have not immediately confirmed the Houthi claim.

The incident comes amid rising tensions in the region and a series of Houthi claims of attacks targeting Saudi oil infrastructure. The group has previously claimed attacks on Aramco facilities in Jizan and oil installations in Yanbu, a major Saudi export hub on the Red Sea coast.

Aramco chief executive Amin Nasser said last week that recent attacks had caused some temporary production disruptions but insisted that operations could be restored quickly and that there had been no significant operational or financial impact.

The latest incident comes as tensions continue to grow around the Red Sea and the wider Middle East, following renewed regional conflict and increasing security concerns surrounding oil infrastructure and shipping routes.
