Russian Air Attacks Kill at Least Five in Ukraine

At least five people have been killed and 11 others injured in a series of Russian attacks across Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities said on Wednesday.

In the frontline city of Kherson, a Russian drone struck a bus carrying passengers, killing four people and injuring four others. The attack occurred at about 8:50am local time, according to Kherson Governor Oleksandr Prokudin.

Another Russian drone attack in Zaporizhzhia killed one person and wounded seven others, while residential and non-residential buildings were damaged and a fire broke out.

Russia also reportedly struck a cargo vessel near Ukraine’s Black Sea port of Odesa, with Moscow claiming the ship was carrying military equipment.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defences had intercepted 453 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions. In the Russian city of Ufa, a drone reportedly hit an apartment building and vehicles, injuring one person.

The attacks come as the Russia-Ukraine war continues, with US-backed efforts to negotiate an end to the conflict remaining stalled. The UN has also reported a sharp rise in civilian deaths in Ukraine this year.
