A man has died from suspected electrocution along Trademore Road in Lugbe, Abuja, while allegedly attempting to steal cables connected to a transformer.
The incident reportedly occurred when the man was suspected of trying to cut the transformer cables. Unfortunately, power supply was restored while he was carrying out the alleged operation, resulting in his electrocution.
His body was discovered inside the transformer enclosure in the early hours of Friday, August 21.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, saying the body had been evacuated from the scene and deposited at a mortuary in Gwagwalada for an autopsy.
