Millions of Americans celebrated the United States' 250th Independence Day on Saturday despite intense summer heat, taking part in parades, concerts, air shows and spectacular fireworks across the country.
The anniversary commemorates 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, marking one of the most significant milestones in American history.
In Washington, D.C., thousands gathered at the National Mall, the Lincoln Memorial and along the Potomac River to witness aerial displays and other patriotic events.
President Donald Trump attended a major commemorative ceremony at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, where he paid tribute to generations of Americans who helped build the nation. He also urged citizens to remain united as they shape the country's future.
In New York City, celebrations featured a ceremonial parade of international tall ships alongside vessels from the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard sailing past the Statue of Liberty. The city's iconic Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks show illuminated the skyline with about 85,000 fireworks launched from the Brooklyn Bridge, the East River and the Hudson River, accompanied by live music and laser displays.
Major celebrations also took place in cities including Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco, where communities marked the historic anniversary with festivals, cultural performances and family-friendly activities.
