The conflict between the United States and Iran has intensified after US President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire agreement with Iran was "over," following fresh US military strikes on Iranian targets.
In response, Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned that any country, military base, or entity supporting US operations against Iran would be considered a legitimate military target.
The renewed hostilities have triggered attacks across the Gulf region, with Iran claiming responsibility for strikes on US military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait, while both countries reported intercepting missiles and drones. Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and the International Maritime Organization condemned the escalation and urged restraint.
The rising tensions have also shaken global markets. Brent crude oil surged more than 6%, reaching a two-week high over fears of disruptions to oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important energy shipping routes. Stock markets, including India's Sensex and Nifty, fell sharply as investors reacted to the worsening crisis.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian criticized the United States, accusing Washington of using "bullying" tactics both in foreign policy and as host of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Diplomatic efforts to restore peace remain uncertain, with international leaders calling for de-escalation as military tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.
