The Lagos State Government, in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, has launched applications for the Lagos Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF), offering grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to support youth-led climate projects across the state.
The initiative is aimed at empowering young people with innovative ideas to address climate change and promote a greener, cleaner, and more resilient Lagos.
Announcing the programme, the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, encouraged young people to seize the opportunity and contribute to sustainable development through practical climate solutions.
Eligible applicants are youth groups made up of individuals aged 15 to 24 years. Successful applicants will receive funding to implement projects that tackle environmental challenges and strengthen climate resilience in Lagos.
As part of the application process, prospective participants must register for and attend a pre-launch information webinar scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. During the session, organisers will explain eligibility requirements, project guidelines, and the grant application process.
