The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the sale of application forms for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage and Ramadan Umrah, urging intending pilgrims to register early and begin making the required payments.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Board's Secretary, Abdul-Hakeem Ajomagberin, announced that Hajj application forms cost ₦20,000, while Ramadan Umrah forms are available for ₦10,000.
He explained that prospective Hajj pilgrims are required to pay an initial deposit of ₦7 million through a bank draft issued by any commercial bank in favour of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. The deadline for the deposit is September 2026, while the final Hajj fare will be announced after approval by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
For those planning to perform the Ramadan Umrah, an initial deposit of ₦5.7 million is also required.
Ajomagberin advised all applicants to obtain official receipts for every payment made and stressed that early registration would enable NAHCON to complete visa processing, accommodation, transportation, and other logistics ahead of the pilgrimage.
He said the pilgrimage package includes accommodation close to the Holy Mosque in Makkah, reliable transportation, daily breakfast and dinner, medical services, spiritual guidance, and guided visits to important Islamic historical sites in Makkah and Madinah.
The Board also announced that enrolment in the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme is now mandatory for all intending pilgrims. Individuals will pay ₦15,000, while families will pay ₦55,000 to access the scheme, which is designed to provide healthcare before, during, and after the pilgrimage.
Ajomagberin reaffirmed the Board's commitment to transparency and accountability, expressing confidence that with the support of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Kadri Hamzat, and NAHCON, the 2027 Hajj exercise would be successfully organised.
