Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has warned that the United States will face "unforgettable consequences" if it continues its military attacks against Iran, accusing Washington of repeatedly violating the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries last month.
In a statement broadcast on Iranian state television on Saturday, Khamenei said the repeated breaches of the agreement prove that US President Donald Trump's signature "cannot be trusted" and described American foreign policy as being driven by "bullying and domination."
He warned that Iran and its regional allies, known as the "Resistance Front," are prepared to respond forcefully if the attacks continue.
The remarks come as fighting between the US and Iran intensifies. According to reports, recent US strikes targeted key civilian infrastructure in southern Iran, including bridges, railway lines and water desalination facilities.
Iran has also responded with attacks, including strikes on infrastructure in Kuwait, further escalating tensions across the Gulf region.
Khamenei urged Iranians to remain united and vigilant, expressing confidence that the country's leadership would defend Iran against external threats.
The memorandum of understanding, brokered by Qatar and Pakistan to reduce tensions and pave the way for peace, has effectively collapsed after both Washington and Tehran accused each other of violating its terms.
The conflict continues to raise concerns about regional stability, global energy supplies and the prospects for renewed diplomatic efforts.
