The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made it possible for eligible Nigerians to begin their Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) registration online before completing the process at a designated registration centre.
The online pre-registration system allows applicants to submit their personal information from home, reducing the time spent at physical registration centres. After completing the online process, applicants are required to visit their chosen INEC centre for biometric capture before their registration is finalized.
Steps to Register for a PVC Online
1. Create an Account Visit the INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) portal and create a personal account using a mobile phone or computer.
2. Complete the Registration Form Fill in the required personal details, including your full name, date of birth, gender, address, and other relevant information. Applicants may also be required to upload supporting documents where necessary.
3. Choose a Registration Centre Select your preferred INEC registration centre and book an appointment for biometric capture. After scheduling, print or save your registration slip, which will be presented during your physical visit.
4. Visit the Registration Centre Attend your appointment on the scheduled date to complete fingerprint and facial biometric capture. Once this stage is completed, INEC will process your PVC for collection.
The online platform also allows registered voters to apply for services such as updating voter information, transferring polling units, replacing lost or damaged PVCs, and confirming registration details.
Only Nigerian citizens who are at least 18 years old and meet the constitutional requirements are eligible to register to vote. Applicants are advised to monitor official announcements from INEC for the latest information on voter registration exercises and PVC collection.
