Death Toll from Venezuela's Twin Earthquakes Rises to 2,954

The death toll from the devastating twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela has risen to 2,954, according to official figures released on Saturday.

Authorities said the number of fatalities increased by more than 300 compared to Friday's report. More than 16,000 people have been injured since the powerful earthquakes hit on June 24, causing widespread destruction across affected communities.

The disaster brought down numerous residential and commercial buildings, leaving thousands of people missing as emergency workers continue search-and-rescue operations.

Teams from Venezuela's Civil Protection agency, firefighters, volunteers, and other emergency responders remain on the ground, working to locate survivors, recover victims, and provide relief to those displaced by the catastrophe.

Officials say rescue efforts are ongoing, while humanitarian assistance is being delivered to thousands of families affected by one of the deadliest natural disasters in Venezuela's recent history.
