A senior official from Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has warned that any further Israeli military escalation in Lebanon would trigger a broad and forceful response from the group.
Mohammed al-Farah, a member of Ansarullah’s political bureau, stated in comments posted on social media that Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon would remain exposed to continued attacks unless they withdraw completely. He added that any new escalation would be met with what he described as a “large and comprehensive response.”
The statement comes amid ongoing cross-border tensions involving Israel and Hezbollah, which intensified after the conflict in Gaza escalated in 2023. Since then, Hezbollah has launched strikes against Israeli positions in support of Palestinians in Gaza, while Israel has carried out retaliatory attacks in Lebanon.
Ansarullah has also reportedly increased its own operations against Israeli-linked targets in solidarity with both Palestinians and Hezbollah, aligning its actions with broader regional resistance movements.
The warning follows reports that Israeli leadership had considered strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, although those plans were later called off after diplomatic pressure and international reactions.
Tensions in the region remain high, with multiple actors warning that further escalation could widen the conflict beyond Gaza and southern Lebanon, potentially drawing in additional regional forces.
