Trump and Pezeshkian Sign US-Iran Agreement to End Conflict

US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.

The agreement was confirmed by Iran’s Foreign Ministry and the White House, with both sides signing the document electronically.

Iranian officials said negotiating teams are expected to meet in Geneva to continue discussions, although there will be no formal signing ceremony because the document has already been signed digitally.

Trump described the agreement as a “very strong” deal, saying it would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. He also warned that the United States could take military action if Iran fails to follow the terms of the agreement.

The agreement includes plans for a 60-day negotiation period focused on Iran’s nuclear programme and the possible lifting of sanctions.

US officials said a proposed $300 billion investment plan for Iran would involve contributions from regional countries and would support rebuilding infrastructure damaged during the conflict.

Iran said the process to unfreeze its blocked assets had been completed in consultation with its central bank, adding that Tehran must have access to its funds.

Analysts said both sides suffered heavily from the war, with Iran facing serious economic and infrastructure challenges, while the conflict also created difficulties for Washington.

The agreement is expected to help reduce tensions in the region, including issues linked to the Strait of Hormuz and Lebanon.
