Three Killed, Five Injured in School Shooting in Central Philippines

Three people have been killed and five others injured after a shooting at a high school in the central Philippines, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred at around 9:00 a.m. inside San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, Leyte province.

Police confirmed that one suspect has been arrested, while another suspect remains at large as authorities investigate the attack.

The victims were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment, while additional police officers were deployed to the school area to protect students, teachers, parents, and residents.

The Tacloban City Police Office said investigations are ongoing to determine the motive and circumstances behind the shooting.

Authorities have appealed to the public to avoid spreading unverified information and to cooperate with investigators.

School shootings are considered uncommon in the Philippines, where such incidents occur only occasionally.
