The Osun State Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly being in possession of a human skull believed to have been removed from a family grave.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, said in a statement on Friday that the case began after a resident reported that the grave of his late elder brother at their family compound had been tampered with and the skull removed.
According to the police, investigation led to the arrest of a 40-year-old suspect, Ogunsola Ojo, who allegedly mentioned three other individuals linked to the incident.
Police later searched a residence connected to one of the suspects and recovered a suspected human skull hidden inside an uncompleted building.
The recovered item has been registered as evidence, while investigations continue to locate another suspect who is currently on the run.
The police said the suspects would be charged in court after the completion of investigations.
