The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old man, identified as Samson Onilewaji, after he was allegedly found in possession of body parts, firearms, and stolen items during a stop-and-search operation along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said the suspect was intercepted in an unregistered commercial shuttle bus carrying six passengers.
According to the police, a search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the recovery of a suspected human right hand, two locally made pistols, one live cartridge, two axes, a point-of-sale (POS) terminal, and five ATM cards from Onilewaji.
The command said the suspect later confessed to recently robbing three individuals of their personal belongings, including the recovered POS terminal and ATM cards.
Police authorities said efforts were underway to locate the victims and return their recovered items, while investigations continue to determine the identity of the owner of the suspected human hand, how it was obtained, and the purpose behind its possession.
