At least six Palestinians were killed and 15 others injured after an Israeli strike hit an area near a wedding tent in Gaza City on Saturday, according to local medical sources.
Witnesses said the attack targeted a tent adjacent to the wedding venue inside a camp sheltering displaced families. The explosion sent shrapnel into the crowded wedding gathering and nearby shelters, causing multiple casualties.
Medical officials at Gaza City's al-Shifa Hospital reported that several of the wounded were in critical condition and receiving treatment in intensive care units. Women and children were among those affected, and the death toll could rise as some victims remain in serious condition.
Residents described scenes of panic as a celebration quickly turned into tragedy. Families attending the wedding were caught off guard when the strike occurred, leaving mourners searching through debris and assisting the injured.

Elsewhere in Gaza on the same day, local sources reported additional strikes, including one in Khan Younis that killed a man who was due to be married later that day. Reports also indicated Israeli military activity near a children's hospital in Gaza City's Tuffah neighborhood.
The developments occurred as Hamas representatives met mediators and Palestinian factions in Cairo to discuss the future of the ceasefire, humanitarian aid access, and proposals for Gaza's post-war governance.
The conflict continues to place civilians at risk, with repeated attacks and ongoing diplomatic efforts struggling to secure a lasting peace.
