Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the payment of allowances and stipends to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state.
The approval is aimed at improving the welfare and well-being of corps members contributing to the development of various sectors across Zamfara.
According to a statement by the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, the payment covers NYSC members from Batch A Stream I and II through Batch C Stream I and II.
The state government said the gesture is in recognition of the dedication, patriotism, and selfless service of young graduates working in education, healthcare, agriculture, and other key areas.
Governor Lawal has directed the Office of the Accountant General to make necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth implementation of the approved allowances.
The Zamfara State Government expressed appreciation to NYSC members for their contributions to community development and for choosing to serve in the state.
