Apply Now: Ireland Offers Fully Funded Postgraduate Scholarships to Nigerians

The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced that applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme will open on June 29, 2026, giving Nigerians the opportunity to pursue a fully funded Master’s degree in Ireland.

The embassy made the announcement through its official X account, stating that the programme is designed for early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana who wish to study a one-year Master’s programme at leading Irish universities.

The embassy said: “Applications for the Ireland Fellows Programme opens on 29 June 2026! Apply for the opportunity to study in Ireland on a fully funded master’s scholarship.”

Eligible applicants must:

Be citizens and residents of Nigeria or Ghana

Have at least a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower

Possess at least three years of relevant work experience


For Nigerian candidates, the programme includes the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, focusing on Master’s programmes in Law, Human Rights, and Governance.

The scholarship covers:

Tuition fees

Monthly living allowance

Accommodation support

Flight and visa expenses

Health insurance

Applications will open on June 29, 2026, and close on July 26, 2026. Interested applicants can apply through the Ireland Fellows Programme portal.
