Plateau Completes Airlift of 1,138 Pilgrims for 2026 Hajj

The Plateau State Government has successfully completed the airlift of 1,138 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.

The Executive Secretary of the Plateau Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Jos. He confirmed that the final batch of pilgrims departed from the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport in Bauchi aboard a chartered flight bound for Saudi Arabia.

Dauda stated that the board, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and agencies, made adequate preparations to ensure a smooth and hitch-free operation throughout the airlift exercise.

He also appreciated Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, for his continued support and commitment toward the welfare of pilgrims from the state.

The board further advised the pilgrims to remain law-abiding and uphold the spiritual values and significance of the Hajj pilgrimage while in the Holy Land.

The 2026 Hajj airlift operations continue across various Nigerian states as thousands of Muslim faithful travel to Saudi Arabia for the annual pilgrimage.
