Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj have begun moving into Mina, marking a key stage in the annual pilgrimage as the most important rites draw closer.
The movement signals the start of one of the busiest phases of Hajj, with thousands of pilgrims leaving their accommodations in Makkah for the tent city of Mina in organized groups.
Officials from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and state pilgrims’ welfare boards coordinated logistics, transportation, and pilgrim guidance to ensure a smooth and orderly transition.
Pilgrims were reminded to comply with Saudi Hajj regulations, including moving in designated groups under appointed leaders and carrying their Nusuk Cards at all times for identification and access to holy sites.
Saudi authorities and Hajj mission officials have continued to emphasize safety measures, including crowd control, hydration, and strict adherence to movement schedules to prevent overcrowding during peak rituals.
Some pilgrims expressed gratitude and excitement as they entered this important stage of the pilgrimage, describing it as a spiritual milestone they had long awaited.
Security personnel and coordinators remain deployed across camps and transport routes to monitor movement and reduce risks such as missing persons or congestion.
After spending the night in Mina, pilgrims are expected to proceed to Arafat for the Day of Arafah, regarded as the most significant ritual of the Hajj pilgrimage.
