London Mayor Joins Millions in Annual Islamic Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

Sadiq Khan has performed the annual Islamic pilgrimage (Hajj) in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, joining more than 1.5 million Muslims from around the world.

Speaking about his experience, he described the pilgrimage as deeply transformative, saying it offered a powerful reminder of spiritual equality and unity among believers, regardless of nationality, status, or background.

Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, is a mandatory religious duty for Muslims who are physically and financially able to undertake it at least once in their lifetime. The pilgrimage involves a series of rituals carried out in and around Mecca over several days.

Khan’s participation placed him among millions of worshippers gathering in one of the largest annual religious events in the world, highlighting both its global scale and spiritual significance.
